  2. Can you imagine the family sat round the radio listening to this? The fear that must have gone through those that were old enough to understand must have been awful.

  3. Margot; There was a time a few years ago, when a radio station replayed this broadcast. It was eerie (to say the least) to actually hear it coming out of my radio.

    Sarah; Indeed. Remember too, that for many listening this was the second war in their lifetime. That's a recurring theme for several characters in my book. And THANKS, Sarah! (you know why!)
