Beginnings

It might start by wondering who would wear this...

or who would abandon a pair of these...

or why the door looks like this...

It could start with imagining a typical day for him...

or the adventures this team may have had...

Every question will lead to a this...

and you'll know it's time to reach for this.

  1. And after all of that, some character comes along and changes the chemistry. For the better...but still...

  2. Elspeth - I really like your idea of questions. They really do lead to some of our best ideas, don't they? And when that happens, there's no limit to where it all could lead.... I've found that simply asking myself a question such as, "What's the weather like in this story today?" helps jump-start my brain...

  3. Carol; Yep.

Giggles; I *know*! Annoying, isn't it? Although, bless their little hearts, they do help shake up the plot!

Margot; Thanks for sharing that tip! I've never used the weather as a starting place, but I certainly shall in the future.

Terry; They really are, aren't they? I think all of us start with asking some form of those questions.

  4. Love the way we can talk ourselves through a story!

And...I might abandon a pair of heels. I'm too tall and too clumsy to wear them!
