You start off by focusing on this...
But then you notice this...
and this...
and the lushness of this...
And soon you're taking in the whole of this...
And wait! You just might see this...
Then you look up and see this...
And now you're lost in the wonder of this...
And you're noticing details like this...
Very good. And great photos, too.
ReplyDeleteElspeth - Oh, how right you are. One little idea can lead to an entire wonderful forest of a story. It happened to me with my WIP; it all started when I walked by a balcony one day and wondered how high it would have to be for a fall from it to be fatal. Yes, I know, but I'm a mystery novelist. That's my excuse ;-).
ReplyDeleteCarol; Bless Google Images.
ReplyDeleteMargot; Oh, what an excellent way to start the ideas growing! Looking down made your imagination go up. I love it.
Remember where you started. I've been reading a book where the author virtually abandoned the initial inciting incident until halfway through the book.

ReplyDeleteOh, I saw Bambi. Was there anything else I was supposed to get? ;D
ReplyDeleteSo true. There's always something, isn't there?
