Pictures, Not Words

Some pictures to fire your imaginations on this Wednesday. Where are you going? Why are you going? Who are you with? Look. There's a new story.

In Italy...

A path by a river...

A winding highway...

An English country road...

"I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference."
Robert Frost

  1. Beautiful photos. I can see a mystery developing on the path by the river. Is that a dead body I see barely visible in the brush?

  2. I love these photos. The river one, with the deep colors and long shadows is the creepiest for me. The winding road makes me feel free.

  4. Second blog today that quoted a line from that Frost poem. One of my favorites. And these photos are gorgeous. Where am I? At home, in my writing/singing studio, having a wonderful day. Where am I going? Staying right here, writing away....

  5. Roads are interesting. But I find the tree leaning out across the river in the second picture even more enticing.

  6. Karen; It sounds as if you're right where you want to be. Every good wish for your writing journey.

Daring Novelist; I find the colours in that one intoxicating.

  7. Elspeth - Gorgeous 'photos! Thanks for sharing. I love the path by the river; I think it's my favourite. I can just see that as a good place to find a body.... Oh, no, what is with mystery authors! It always comes back to dead bodies!

  8. Margot; I swear it's because that photo has shadows stretching over the path. Some loving pair go off for a picnic and make a grisly discovery...

  9. *Nods head vigourously* That's it! It's the shadows! That makes sense.

  10. I'm writing a story about a river right now. I find each photo you posted very intriguing, each in their own way.

  14. My choice in that lot would be the path by the river - awesome! Love the Frost quote too - one of my faves :)

  15. I love that path by the river. A fair number of my scenes happen by the Nile, but it's pretty different topography.

    And hot too.

  16. Each photograph has a story attached, several stories I am sure, but only one comes to me right away. Wish I could write them all!!!
And lovely lines, and quite a coincidence that we both quoted the same lines today.
