  1. Elspeth - Oh, this is priceless! Absolutely priceless! To me that perspective is just so fascinating! What's even more interesting is that it's a matter of children's understanding of the words they've heard. Each one's so funny I don't know which one I like best...

  2. Ouch! A big clipper!
I love these - poor old Jeanne d'Arc, burnt AS a steak. Could I get fries with that?

  3. Thanks for the laughs! I was just talking to my sister about how literal kids can be. I remember hearing gorillas had high-jacked a helicopter and I was amazed to think monkeys could fly one!

  4. That was brilliant, I love how children make sense of the words they hear.

  5. What fun. I'd look out for those clippers and the lapdancers. I'm sure the parents of the kid who wrote the latter were a bit embarrassed. Wonder where Johnny learned about those? LOL

  6. And when the Lapdancers count their reindeer, they use Laptops

I actually learnt that remarkable fact in a crime novel translated from Swedish - it should be ´portable computers´ in Danish, but somehow the translator had got confused by all those Laps ;D

  7. Big clippers, burned as a steak, and lap dancers all in one story. Perfect!

    Happy Weekend :)

  8. Aren't they great? One of my daughters once told me of her great disappointment when she was around 5; having been told she could grow up to be anything she wanted, she decided she wanted to be a balloon. Oh dear.
