And They All Lived...

Sooner or later we all get to write our version of this...

or (if you're like me) it's probably more like this...

Sorry. That was shameless self-promotion of my highest-selling game.
But, the picture has a link to the game if you're interested.
Oops...Sorry again.

BACK TO OUR POST....

Sooner or later we all get to write our version of this...

Some stories end like this....

or like this...

maybe there might be a this...

with plenty of this...

Your main character might be doing this...

But you must know (hidden in the backseat) is a small this...

In my case, however...

No matter how I end any of my projects...

I know...

in my heart...

Somewhere...

a sheep is doing this.

  1. Elspeth - Oh, a cuddly monster and the sheep! My day is made!! And I like your point, too, about how stories end. Mine don't tend to have exactly joyful endings; I write murder mysteries. People die. So I wouldn't say happy, but I do try to have hopeful endings, if that makes sense.

  2. Romantic suspense requires that HEA, although I try to leave things open-ended to a degree. That let me write a sequel using the same characters, which is not the norm in romance.

Right now, the ending of my current WIP is (as always) lame and in need of rewriting. Ugh.

  3. Funny! Well I'm working on a romance right now so I DO get a happily ever after- of course after a lot of sadness and drama.

  4. I laughed out loud. For real. Are you wearing a sheepish grin?

  5. Margot; Even in mysteries, there has to be an end - although in our case it's usually someone being led away in handcuffs rather than riding into the sunset.

Terry; I should think balancing an ending like that would be tricky. I don't know how you do it!

Lauri; That's the lovely thing about writing romances, isn't it? Sure there's pain and anguish, but in the end, it's all hearts and flowers.

Carol; I might be. I'm glad you liked it.
