Pictures, Not Words

Some pictures to fire your imaginations on this Wednesday. Where are you going? Why are you going? Who are you with? Look. There's a new story.

In Italy...

A path by a river...

A winding highway...

An English country road...

"I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference."

  1. Beautiful photos. I can see a mystery developing on the path by the river. Is that a dead body I see barely visible in the brush?

  2. I love these photos. The river one, with the deep colors and long shadows is the creepiest for me. The winding road makes me feel free.

  4. Roads are interesting. But I find the tree leaning out across the river in the second picture even more enticing.

  6. Elspeth - Gorgeous 'photos! Thanks for sharing. I love the path by the river; I think it's my favourite. I can just see that as a good place to find a body.... Oh, no, what is with mystery authors! It always comes back to dead bodies!

  7. Margot; I swear it's because that photo has shadows stretching over the path. Some loving pair go off for a picnic and make a grisly discovery...

  8. *Nods head vigourously* That's it! It's the shadows! That makes sense.

  13. My choice in that lot would be the path by the river - awesome! Love the Frost quote too - one of my faves :)

  14. I love that path by the river. A fair number of my scenes happen by the Nile, but it's pretty different topography.

    And hot too.

  15. Each photograph has a story attached, several stories I am sure, but only one comes to me right away. Wish I could write them all!!!
And lovely lines, and quite a coincidence that we both quoted the same lines today.
