Boo!

Fear...

For some, it's this...

or this...

For many, it's having to do this...

Or getting a too-close acquaintanceship with this...
(Little Miss Muffet knew what she was doing)

For some, it's this...

or eradicating this...

But, for many writers....

It's this.

  1. Elspeth - Those 'photos - especially that last one - are absolutely priceless!! Just priceless! Let's face it; writing is a scary thing to do on a lot of levels. Those who write really do a courageous thing. Most people don't think about that - unless they write.

  2. Margot; I'm glad you liked the post. I completely agree, only another writer will understand the courage it takes to face that blank page.

  4. I hear you. My muse is on vacation and that is exactly where I am at -- terrified of the blank page.

  5. Patricia; Muahahaha.

Kit: I'll bet you one piece of lost luggage that if you actually start writing that vacationing muse will return before you finish the page.

  7. So true. That flashing cursor on a blank screen is a real spine-chiller.

  8. Al; It's all about the level of sheer, pure panic. Dentists are certainly up there.

Terry; Isn't it amazing how it's able to convey such contempt in a simple repeating blink?

  10. That microphone makes me want to karaoke. Probably so I can procrastinate and not face a blank page.
