In honour of the season here in my part of the world and a certain wedding happening tomorrow, here's a selection of hats from the 1930s. It was a time when a woman wouldn't venture out the door without some sort of hat covering her head.
I'd wear a few of these!

I'm fascinated by the delightful hats women wear in England. I wish hats were more in vogue in the U.S.! I don't think I could pull it off like the English can, though.
ReplyDeleteElspeth - Those are such chic hats. How interesting that the hat goes in and out of vogue, isn't it? I think my favourites here are the little black berets (#3 and #5). So delicately made and really effective!
ReplyDeleteThe red ones are so cool!
ReplyDeleteLaura; I love hats! I think they're always in fashion, you just have to have the confidence to wear them.
ReplyDeleteMargot; Aren't they lovely? I'd wear most of these.
Dorte; I agree!
I am SO glad I didn't live back then. Hats were just falling out of "required attire" when I was small. My grandmother wore hats. I am so NOT a hat person.

I love the blue one with the purple satin on the side. I wish hats were in style again. I always look forward to your 30s Thursdays!
ReplyDeleteTerry; I must admit, I AM a hat person, but good for you for knowing you're not!
ReplyDeleteLuana; Thanks so much for letting me know! Feedback is always good. And I agree with you about the blue one.
