Sewing a Story

You've come up with an idea...

and you've chosen your characters...

and you have a space to create...

So....

Plug in that machine...

and lay out your plot...

Remember you'll need plenty of these to keep everything straight...
(and yes, you might get a few pin pricks...)

But soon you'll have a beginning...

And a bit of a middle...

And a bit of an end...

Sure, there will be hiccups along the way...

And you might discover you've made three of these...

But sooner or later, you'll have a finished project.

Of course, mine looks like they did in 1935!

  1. Elspeth - Oh, now this is a wonderful analogy! I just love it! And let's face it, stories are as varied as patterns are, so there's lots of room for creativity.

Jan; I was pleased when I realized it would work!

    Terry; Ain't that the truth...

Margot; Don't forget being able to rip out seams and re-sew them when it doesn't fit quite right!

  5. That's so funny. And the first thing I thought of is how I used to sew and got so frustrated at the number of times I had to rip out zippers before I'd get it right. I think I'm still doing that with my manuscripts. :)
