Bert, of course, used traditional fishing tackle while Ernie sat in the boat and yelled "HERE FISHY, FISHY, FISHY!" and a fish would leap into the boat. I really like your analogy, actually. Anglers can use all the fancy baits and lures they want; if they fish aren't there, they ain't.
